Annika is 13! Now Tom and Trina
have four teenagers! Fun times.
We had planned to go to Jimmy's on Wednesday
after my cataract surgery, but opted to go home
because of blizzard warnings.  This is Jimmy's
deck on Thursday with a foot of snow on
the picnic table! Glad we went home! :-)
Donna arrived in Grand Forks
on November 19th, just in time
for the UND hockey game.
On Sunday, the 20th, we headed to the farm,
but stopped in Devils Lake for lunch
at "Old Main". Our view from the
restaurant window--wild turkeys!
While we were driving to Rugby on Tuesday to shop,
Bob spotted this buck and doe along the road.
Deer hunting season had ended on Sunday.
Lydia, Claire, Ana, and Cecelia arrived on Wednesday.
Grampa offered to pull the sleds
with the four-wheeler
The girls found a snowpile for the sleds, too!
The gang at Bob's sister Kathy's
on Thanksmas!
Bob's brother Steve got their old snowplane working!
Nephew Jay and Steve discuss giving rides to the kids.
And off they go......
Jimmy was stealing someone's gift
Donna didn't think they'd let her
take the explosive powder on the plane!
Maureen created the best prize...
Guess Who? with family pictures!   Thanks,
everyone for all the fun!
Bob threw a bunch of quarters into the pile
of wrapping paper, gave each kid a cup,
and counted down to begin the grab....
Grace models her toupee from the gift exchange;
Claire, Cecelia, and Lydia modeling Gramma's jammies;
Luke, getting in on the fun.
The morning after the night before...
Jimmy, Mary Kate, Andrew, Ana holding George
Cecelia, and Claire
Luke and George camel riding
After Jimmy's family headed back home
on Friday morning, Bob, Ana,
Claire, Cecelia, and Lydia
went to Bottineau to ski. They had so
much fun, they forgot to take pictures.
Ana and the girls went back
to Minnesota on Saturday, and
Bob, Donna, and Diane went
to Grand Forks for the UND hockey game.
Gramma Mary Fritel's tree
brightens our Christmas every year.
52 Years on Nov. 30th.....yes, that's prime rib
on Bob 's plate!

October--On the Road Again...

October 1st: First day of UND Hockey season.
We drove to Grand Forks for the game.
Before the game, they raised the NCHC
championship banner from last year.
We defeated Manitoba 5-1 today!
The next day we drove to Iowa.  Donna arrived
a couple of hours before we did. Trina and Tom
had a super Lebanese dinner made for all of us!
Annika didn't have school on Monday,
so she beat us at Monopoly, The Game of Life,
and Sorry before Donna took her shopping.
We all went to Jett and Caiden's JV
football game later that day. Jett is the
QB with a great arm! Caiden intercepted
a pass and ran for a TD! We won 38-0!
Jett is #17; Caiden is #18.
Awesome sunset by the football field.
After the game we went to Red Robin to eat. Thanks, Donna!
On Tuesday we drove to Ana's in Minnesota.
We watched Claire in action at her
middle school soccer game.
I think Lydia and Cecelia were happy
when the game was over. :-)
We stayed at Ana's after supper at
Applebee's and drove home on Wednesday.
"Deer" friends greeted me at 7 a.m. on Thursday.
Three months young--a happy baby George!
He must have known that the UND
hockey team beat Holy Cross 6-0 and 5-0
this past weekend in Grand Forks.
Look what Ana found at the Dollar store :-)
Happy Halloween!
Bob set up a camera in the trees to check for deer,
and this is the first "dear" he spotted.
The dates are wrong on the camera.
This 4-point buck was a surprise to him.
But this coyote was more of a shock!
Have you noticed that I love the North Dakota skies?
This sunset was today, October 19th.
Iowa kids' creations. Happy Halloween!
Ghouls just wanna have fun!
The girls created their own Halloween drama!
Scaredy and cat? Happy Halloween!
George's Halloween costume?
Trick or treat?

Try to Remember....September

Jett is the quarterback for the
Alburnett JV football
team...the announcer
called the play.. "Bueckers to.....
little Bueckers (Caiden)" for a TD!

Claire, Lydia, and Cecelia started school after Labor Day
Our first farm truck. Bob bought this on January 13, 1973.
It's a 1948 Chevy 1 1/2 ton truck. First one I drove!
It is going to the salvage dealer in Minot tomorrow,
September 19, 2022. :(  I am not sad to see it go...
have been mowing around it for years!)
9/19   Monday, Monday....I didn't get to Rugby today!
The Concert Series started on Sept. 20th
in Bottineau, about 70 miles from the farm,
but only ten from our camper! A $50
season ticket is good for the concerts in
Rugby (25 miles) and Devils Lake (50 miles),
too. We miss some when we go to Texas,
but this year will get to four before we leave.
The first sign that summer is over:
Closing up the camper at Lake Metigoshe.
Get out the map to find it on the
Canadian border north of Bottineau, ND
The Oktoberfest was at the Rugby
museum on Saturday. Yes, we ate
sausage and sauerkraut, knoephla soup,
German potato salad, and kuchen,
and listened to the oompah band!
Niece Andrea painted the board!
And, yes, the Oktoberfest is
in September in Germany, too!!
Our friend Dennis sent this today!! :-)
