2023 Starting Anew!

Can you tell that she is an accountant!

Our Texas living room in 2015. The carpet looks
like a grey-blue, but was actually sky blue at one time!
We took out all the carpet
and put in vinyl waterproof flooring.
Well, actually Lupe, Raul and teenage helpers
did all the work. You can see the old linoleum
in the master bathroom--it looks yellow, but
it was white at one time.  They also repaired
some floor areas and put in two new toilets.
On the 11th, we went to the "Beyond Van Gogh" exhibit
with Jerry& Wendy

Tuesday, the 17th, we went to South Padre Island.
The water came up to the car...weren't
sure we'd get out of there, but we did.
We dropped Bob off at the south end of the island,
so he could ride along the beach, but the water level
was too high, so he rode the bike path
on Padre Island Blvd., stopped to talk a few times,
and had a beer at Clayton's.
We went to the Padre Island Brewery
for an early supper....
and oysters (Jerry, Dennis, and Bob), guacamole (Diane),
a margarita (Nancy), and some beer (Wendy and the guys)
On Saturday, the 21st, we went to this concert in Harlingen.
These guys were awesome~ They had just hired a new
drummer from Los Fresnos, Texas, and the group
played all the Beatles' favorites: "Here Comes the Sun"
sung by "George" accompanied by Bob, who I think
was also a local hire.

Sunday, January 22nd, at Yummies during a whirlwind day
from Walmart, to church in Port Isabel, breakfast,
a stop to check reservations for February's
production of "The Man of La Mancha"
on South Padre Island, the SPI Market Days
at the Convention Center,
a ride up north to check
the road for blowing sand
and watch the horseback riders on the beach,
a stop to buy a t-shirt for Bob,
ice cream at Davy Jones in PI, checking out a
field which had been harvested east of La Feria,
stop at the LF grocery to get cream
for the "blidchinda" we bought at Market Days,
supper at home, and "card Bingo" for Diane
who actually won $4.80! Whew!
Kathy, Wendy, and Diane went to the
Shakespeare-themed International quilt show.
Shakespeare got 1st; the skull got 2nd
Can you find the hidden word
on this quilt? We had a great lunch
at Antigua afterwards. :-)
Today, the 26th, we had a disc golf pro
come to our park to give instructions.
Bob is "putting" in a "circle of fire"
practice session.  Lots of fun!
A family in Buffalo, MN, built this 30 foot snowman,
so Ana took Claire, Cecelia, and Lydia to see him.

Yikes! It's December already!

Five months young on December 2nd!
Bob's brother Jerry and Wendy arrived
in Texas on December 4th.
We live on T row.  Jerry and Wendy are in T1--white car;
We are in T2 next door--blue vehicle. The fence
is new because a tree fell on the old one this summer.
They said it was 80 degrees and humid
and sent a picture of our winter home
Bob is in charge of the plants and decorating
in Texas---he planted these Crotons along
our carport.

And Julia and Doug swam in the pool, too.
Doug and RJ braved the weather
to go to the Cleveland Browns football game on the 24th.
We opened gifts on Christmas morning,
the kids searched for quarters in the wrapping paper,
and Sara took a "selfie" before they left for home.
